Dear Friends and Colleagues
On behalf of the organizing committee, I have the great pleasure and honour to welcome you to the garden city of Singapore for the 20th General Scientific Meeting of the Singapore Society of Anaesthesiologists (SSA) in conjunction with the 5th Congress of Asian Society of Neuroanesthesia and Critical Care (ASNACC).
The SSA GSM is currently one of the largest anaesthesia meetings in Singapore. The objective is to provide an opportunity for the anaesthesia community to present and discuss state-of-the-art practices in the fields of anaesthesia, intensive care and pain medicine. The Congress of ASNACC, a biennial event that focuses on the subspecialty of neuroanaesthesia and neurocritical care aims to provide a platform for participants to share experiences with fellow clinicians for the management of patients with neurological conditions. The theme of this combined meeting “A Meeting of Minds” attempts to create an environment where participants can interact with one another to address any practice gaps for the betterment of their practice.
The broad spectrum of clinical topics will be discussed at multiple scientific sessions including refresher lectures, forums, workshops and problem-based discussions. Distinguished speakers from both local institutions as well as from the international community will share their expertise in three concurrent sessions. Professors Adrian Gelb (USA), Tatang Bisri (Indonesia), Haekyu Kim (Korea) and Hari Dash (India) are some of the prominent speakers who have committed to speak at the conference. There will also be free paper presentation and competition during the meeting.
Through the planned social events, we hope to offer attendees the change to mingle and promote networking. Trade exhibits by numerous companies showcasing some of the latest treatment options and technology will allow the participants to explore and evaluate some of these products and services.
The conference venue Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel is an upscale hotel overlooking the historic Singapore River. It is located near Boat Quay, Clarke Quay and Robertson Quay, close to the Marina Bay and a short drive away from most of the sights in Singapore.
Once again a warm welcome to Singapore and looking forward to having you contribute to the advancement of knowledge and development of our specialty at the 20th SSA GSM and the 5th Congress ASNACC meeting, A Meeting of Minds.
