Dr Diana Chan is currently a registrar at Singapore General Hospital. Her interests lie in Pain and Regional Anaesthesia and she has recently obtained her European Diploma of Regional Anaesthesia (EDRA). She is part of the SGH regional anaesthesia committee and was a faculty member for the 1st and 2nd SGH regional anaesthesia workshop. She is also involved in simulation and is part of the organizing committee for the year 1 residency crisis simulation workshop 2014.
Diana has also been actively involved in research and has published papers and presented posters in numerous overseas conferences. In addition to teaching anaesthesia residents and preparing them for their examinations, she has also been a mentor to medical students and is a clinical lecturer for Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
Outside of work, Diana’s hobbies include running, cycling, doing yoga and playing the piano. In 2012, she went to Bangladesh as part of the IMPACT UK Foundation team to provide anaesthesia for patients undergoing middle ear surgery.
Dr Lim Lan Fern Michele is currently a Registrar at the Department of Women’s Anesthesia, KK Hospital. As part of her administrative duties, she is the department social representative, involved in the organization of residents’ and departmental social gatherings and outings. She also sits in the department Joint Commission International (JCI) committee and is involved in the processes of JCI re-accreditation for KK Hospital. She represents the department in the hospital workgroup looking at safety of air flight after anesthesia and surgery.
Dr Lim actively participates in educational activities such as SHARP lectures for anesthesia residents, department journal club meetings, MO teaching sessions, Primary & Final preparatory tutorials and the Primary MMed Preparatory Course (Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine).
With a research interest in the use of opioids in the obstetric population, she has published a review article of the use of remifentanil in labour and is the co-investigator in a Phase 2 study on a novel vital-signs-controlled, patient-controlled-analgesia (PCA) remifentanil system for labour analgesia. She was involved in the proof reading of the textbook ‘Obstetric Anesthesia and Analgesia: Practical Issues’ and has written a book chapter entitled ‘Opioids in Obstetrics’ to be published in a pharmacology textbook (in press). In addition, she is the co-investigator in a Phase 3 randomized controlled clinical trial on multiple epidural maintenance regimens (COLEUS trial).
Dr Priscilla Phoon is currently a Registrar at the Singapore General Hospital. She has presented posters at numerous local and overseas conferences including the European Society of Regional Anaesthesia Congress 2014. She is also actively involved in the teaching of junior MOs and medical students.
She sits on the SGH Regional Anaesthesia committee and was a faculty member in the 2nd SGH RA workshop. She is also the recipient of the Singhealth Best Junior Doctor Award – House Officer in 2009 and Medical Officer in 2011.
